You discover your resilience when you’re on an outdoor adventure.
Sometimes it’s the big things that test you and other times it’s an accumulation of small things. What’s the tipping point at which you make that decision to give up or carry on?
Whether you’re successful or not in your adventure goal, you will always return home with valuable insight into yourself and others. Either way you are richer for the experience.
Discover Your Resilience on Treks
We’ve learnt a lot from the treks we’ve been on when things didn’t go so well. We’ve faced everything from bad weather and basic living conditions to difficult terrain and high altitude to illness and injury.
After our Mera Peak expedition we wrote a whole blogpost on tips to build mental toughness on a trek. We’ve called on all of those things on future treks and high altitude adventures that we’ve been on.
When the Covid pandemic hit, suddenly all our plans went out the window and we needed to look at things from a different perspective – it was one big adventure we all found ourselves on.
It’s funny how sometimes the most challenging of experiences are the ones that give you the biggest lessons and help you go on to achieve bigger and better things later on. Your resilience grows throughout life.
